Bag It is a nonprofit organization that was started here in Tucson in 2003. It was created to support, educate and empower those impacted by cancer so they can become self-advocates.

Sandra Valenzuela has been a Bag It volunteer since day one. She was a teacher assistant for 21 years until she retired last year. Sandra worked with Sherri Romanoski, the founder of Bag It, and that is how she got involved. Bag It also helped her mom when she was diagnosed with breast cancer many years ago. Being a volunteer for Bag It has been an extremely rewarding experience for her. Sandra enjoys meeting new people, helping out with community events, and more importantly knowing she volunteers with an organization that is making a difference with patients and their journey through a cancer diagnosis.
