On Tuesday, May 19th, 2026 our Club made a site visit to MUSD Family Resource Center located in the former Thornydale Grade School. A hidden gem in the Marana District is the Family Resource Center (FRC). Dedicated to helping people help themselves, the FRC provides solutions to many challenges facing students and their families. We were fortunate to have as our guide Club member Josh Bayne. The FRC falls under the purview of the Executive Director of State and Federal Projects for MUSD, who happens to be Josh!
In the hour-long tour and discussion we learned the center is opened M-F with:
Staff providing support services, community resources, and information.
A food pantry and clothing bank relying solely on community donations and grants
Community Collaboration to provide additional support and services
Counseling Referrals
Parenting/Adult Education
Health Services Information
Social Services
Information & Referral
Coordination of Student & Family Resources
Coordination of Student Programming
Increased emphasis on parent involvement
Community Engagement
