Attendees: John and Cindy Dooling, Don and Kathy Jorgensen, Harold Burtzloff, Andrea de la Cortez, Christine Leonard, Laura Clymer, Beckie Penman, Mark Goligoski, Dan Contorno.
Meeting start was delayed by twenty-five minutes while IT staff worked to allow the speaker to share the presentation with members.
At 7/26am the Pledge of Allegiance was recited by all in attendance.
Andrea shared one announcement about the Marana Rotary table for the Tree Lighting ceremony at the Marana Town Center on Saturday, December 7 starting at 2pm, tree lighting at 6 with the festivities ending at 9pm.  Setup should start at noon; although it was suggested that Andrea secure a table spot prior to set up. Christine shared information on the various activities surrounding the festivities. Andrea will share the sign-up schedule and location for our table.
The guest speaker for the morning was Mark Corona, who shared an uplifting message to re-energize, transform lives and set goals. As a Border Agent, he outlaws Crocs and incorrect ways to eat string cheese. He formed a nation called SlowJamistan. Mark shared how he went from sleeping on his sister’s couch in Tucson after being laid off from a successful radio career in Los Angeles. He realized his partying lifestyle was not life-fulfilling when it dawned on him that he had not set any goals. His newfound goal and small successes as a game show host lead him into expanding on goal development.
His message was to set a goal and not get mulled down by the details to achieve it. Marks’ example of attracting a cat (via laser pointer) is easier than trying to chase it lends itself to the philosophy of not overthinking ideas. His development of a country (SlowJamistan), purchases of a fire truck, police car and Porder Batrol truck lend credence to his philosophy. Mark has already made strides on his new goal of a public speaking career having shared his guiding principles with the Rotary Club of Marana.
"The power of setting goals is  not what matters... It's the belief that powers your goals. Never worry about the "HOW""

The meeting ended with the 4-Way test at 8:02am.
