Speaker and longtime Marana Rotary Club member Harold Burtzloff gave a ClubRunner tutorial for members so they can update their profiles and post information about our club's activities.

Our Marana Rotary Club retreat is this Saturday from 4-7 PM at Laura’s home. Dinner will be provided, and it is expected that 2 hours will be used for club planning discussions. Homework will be sent prior, and those who cannot attend should at least hand in their homework assignments!

Happy Bucks:
  • Mary is happy to be having her brother arrive to help on her LAST TREATMENT! YAY!
  • Cathy was happy to have celebrated her mom’s 80th birthday.
  • Don, who is at home, is happy to have finished his last surgery.
  • Bob, working with unstable internet (due to melted router?) was looking forward to 112 degrees F in Edmond OK
  • Andy was enduring the heat in southern Utah, waiting for (hoping for) thunderstorms
  • Harold was last to arrive this morning being delayed by a train. Several commented that this was the first time Harold arrived last in, like, forever.
  • Randy was happy to be at the meeting in person, but not happy it is because his vacation was cut short by some health issues with Deb.
  • Adam happily survived two of his wife’s baby showers by playing golf.
  • Cindy was happy to have attended a Youth Exchange Conference in Albuquerque NM and also celebrating her grandson having set a league record at a swimming event.
  • Beckie was happy to be a grandmother to her 3 year-old granddaughter.
  • John gloated over having a half dozen grandkids competing on swim teams, and boasted of having cooked 72 hot dogs at a swim meet.
  • Carol was happy, although the sound was not good. I imagine she is happy to be retired.
  • Laura was simply happy to be out of Heathrow Airport ahead of the disastrous travel nightmares in London
  • Laura also reminded Bob that he has a wedding anniversary coming up on July 22. Bob seemed rather surprised to learn of this.
Guest Speaker
Harold provided a very informative description of our club website and how to make use of the information. Many of us learned that our profiles were incomplete and how to update them. For example, Bob Bishop’s profile shows him to be married to himself, which should simplify his upcoming wedding anniversary. Harold explained the use of the email functions and showed us how to find various documents pertaining to the club’s events, data and its business. Perhaps most importantly, we learned just how much work Harold puts into maintaining the website, investing “thousands” of his hours over time to keep it so finely tuned and useful.
