Guest speaker Stephanie Lang explained how the Dream Center in Phoenix seeks to provide all-inclusive services to rescued victims of human trafficking.

September 6, 2022 weekly meeting
Laura called the meeting to order at 7 a.m. The group broke into smaller groups for 10’ of socializing.
Club Business
Because of the resignations of Lynne Himmer and Suleee Edwards for personal reasons from their 2022-23 positions as Treasurer and Secretary, respectively, Laura asked for replacement nominations for these positions. Harold Burtzloff is nominated as Treasurer and Andy Swarthout as Secretary. Upon a motion for both nominees made by Randy Brooks, and seconded by Beckie Penman, the motion passed unanimously. Messrs. Burtzloff and Swarthout will serve their positions for the remainder of the 2022-23.
Furthermore, John Dooling and Harold Burtzloff will serve as Marana Rotary Foundation’s President and Treasurer, respectively, for 2022-23
Don described the District 5500 Conference to be held September 23-24. The District Governor, Anita, will host an open forum session on empowering girls Friday the 23rd at 10 a.m. to open the conference.
Laura reminded that Anita will be attending our weekly meeting next week, September 13, and that the meeting will begin at 6:30 a.m. with a Board-hosted meeting before the regular meeting.
Laura reported that the on-line payment process will be available soon on our website.
Happy Bucks
Members shared their reasons for being happy this week, which included a UA football victory, the beautiful weather, travel to see family and friends, and just being happy, in general.
Guest Speaker
Stephanie Lang of the Dream Center, Phoenix, gave an excellent presentation on the Phoenix facility. The Center focusses on rescuing and providing shelter and programming for children, teens, and young adults who are the victims of human trafficking.
Laura adjourned the meeting promptly at 8:01 with the Four Way Test.
